Getting the Basics Right
All Our mattresses follow UK standard sizes (Small Single, Single, Compact Double, Double, King and Super King). You’ll find their exact dimensions below:
- Small Single Bed: W75cm x L190cm, the perfect choice for your little ones!
- Single Bed: W90cm x L190cm, perfect for children’s bedrooms, or a guest bed.
- Small Double Bed: W122cm x L190cm, top choice for teenagers who love a lie in!
- Double Bed: W137 x L190cm, great for spreading out while sleeping alone, or for couples in a small bedroom.
- Kingsize Bed: W152cm x L200cm, 10cm longer than a double – the kingsize is the most popular choice.
- Super Kingsize Bed: W180cm x L200cm, if you have the room and budget, the super king is perfect for sleeping like royalty!
Our bed frames are built to accommodate these same mattress sizes—note that a bedstead will always be slightly larger than its matching divan base, but the mattress dimensions remain identical.
Some retailers (for example, IKEA) use European-standard dimensions. If you plan to mix and match, please consult the above information. And if you need any assistance, contact us.
Everyone’s body shape, weight and preferred sleep position differ—what’s perfect for one person may not suit another:
- Body type: Are you Slim, average or heavy-set?
- Sleep position: Do you lie on your side, back or stomach?
- Temperature: Do you tend to sleep hot?
Your answers will guide you toward the right mattress construction and tension.
Our comfort ratings are based on an average 80 kg sleeper:
- A “firm” mattress will feel firmer to someone lighter (around 70 kg) and a bit softer to someone heavier (around 100 kg).
- Back and stomach sleepers usually benefit from a firmer surface for better spinal support.
- Side sleepers generally need a softer feel to cushion hips and shoulders.

We offer a range of base options for the beds we sell. Each have their own advantages.
- Slats - The entry choice, providing versatility and durability.
- Solid base - Strong, Sturdy and ideal for that extra support.
- Gas Lift Storage - Simple lift up to reveal hidden storage, a very practical solution.
